Saint Petersburg Development Ty Joslyn June 20, 2024
Since my last visit to Castille Urbana in August 2024, the transformation has been nothing short of remarkable. The five-story, 40-unit condominium at 600 3rd Ave S. is no longer a vision—it’s a reality. Construction is complete, move-ins have begun, and the building now hums with the quiet energy of new residents settling into their downtown oasis.
Standing just blocks from Tropicana Field and the heart of the $6.5 billion redevelopment of the Historic Gas Plant District, Castille Urbana is now a living part of St. Pete’s evolving story. The echoes of Peppertown’s past still linger in the air, but today, they mingle with the sounds of progress—footsteps on wide plank floors, laughter from the community room, and the occasional bark from the dog park relief station.
Inside, the finishes remain true to the original promise: Moen fixtures, 3cm quartz countertops, elongated toilets, and 42-inch cabinets. But now, they’re not just samples in a showroom—they’re part of someone’s morning coffee ritual, their evening unwind, their everyday life. Ceiling heights still soar to 10 feet on upper floors, and those generous 8-foot windows? They frame real views now—sunsets, city lights, and the pulse of downtown.
As of this writing, only six three-bedroom units remain, all 1,650 sq. ft. with open layouts and private balconies. The ADAGE and GARDENA units continue to anchor the building’s ends, offering mirror-image designs with subtle balcony differences. And the monthly fees? Still refreshingly low—less than a third of what many downtown towers charge. Castille Urbana has carved out a niche for buyers who crave luxury without excess.
The incentives are generous: 10% down, zero closing costs, and pricing that starts in the mid-$700,000s. It’s a rare opportunity to own in the heart of St. Pete without the sticker shock of high-rise living.
And the neighborhood? It’s blossoming. With Domus Urbana sold out and NJR’s next project, Aerie on 3rd, already approved, this pocket of downtown is becoming a hub for thoughtful, mid-rise living. The larger redevelopment plan still looms on the horizon—ballpark, museum, hotel, and more—but Castille Urbana offers something tangible today: space, style, and simplicity.
If you’re ready to be part of this next chapter in St. Pete’s story, I’d love to help you find your place here. Castille Urbana isn’t just a condo—it’s a front-row seat to history in the making.
